Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing – Emergency Nursing

CHC43115 – Certificate IV in Disability

Introduction

This specialty course will prepare you to assess nursing needs for patients in emergency situations. Emergency nursing involves knowledge, confidence, and abilities to care for patients successfully.

The course promotes nurses to broaden their area of practise by focusing on the evaluation and nursing treatment of critically sick clients in acute care settings. Clinical reasoning abilities and evidence-based specialised nursing knowledge will be used to connect theoretical emergency care knowledge to current nursing practise.

The course is delivered online and includes a requirement to work in an emergency care environment under supervision for at least two days each week.

The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing – Emergency Nursing will supplement your existing nursing knowledge and abilities and develop critical care nursing methods and specialised skills. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to utilise these skills while caring for patients.

Students will learn how to:

  • Conduct a critical examination of the critical care nurse’s duties, functions, and scope of practise in emergency care settings
  • Apply critical thinking processes, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication to the evaluation and administration of nursing care delivered to critically ill clients within the emergency care healthcare team
  • Demonstrate leadership within a multidisciplinary healthcare team in order to provide effective therapeutic treatment to clients in acute care settings
  • Conduct an analysis of the legal, ethical, social, cultural, and political issues that influence the delivery of person-centered healthcare
  • Recognize, evaluate, and use current evidence-based nursing strategies while caring for clients in acute care settings

The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing also serves as a gateway for individuals interested in pursuing a Master of Nursing degree in Australia, either on-campus or online.
